FAQ's

How much does a tour cost?
We charge $10 per person over the age of 2 for tours. The money we collect from tours supports our rescue, Suri Alpaca Rescue.

Do you accept credit cards?
Yes! We accept cash and all major credit cards, though cash is preferred for tour fees.

How long does a tour last?
It takes about an hour to see the alpacas & visit the farm store.

What are tour hours?
Tours are by appointment only. There are many reasons why it is important for us to schedule visits. Summer is a very busy time on any farm. It’s important for us to provide the best possible experience for guests; however, our animals are our top priority. If we are having herd health that day, shearing or other animal maintenance, it’s all hands on deck and the animals wouldn’t be available to be seen. It’s best to have tours when we and the animals are ready for action.

How do I schedule a tour?
There are a number of ways to schedule your tour. You can send us a message on the contact tab of this website, email us at lindsayehenderson@gmail.com, or by calling Lindsay at 937-416-7770.

What do you do on a tour?
We have four barns where our alpacas live and each serves its own purpose. For example, we have a geriatric barn for our older females. This barn has heated floors and extra cameras so we can keep a close eye on them. During tours, you will be taken through all 4 of the barns. You will learn about how we care for alpacas, where they come from, their personalities and happily address any other questions you have. We love questions. Alpacas have been raised for thousands of years for their fleece. This is still the primary reason alpacas are farmed. There are many different uses for their fiber, so we end the tour at our farm store. This way, visitors can see what we do with alpaca fleece.

Do I have to go on a tour to see the alpacas?
There are people who live here on the farm, so it’s important that their privacy and safety is maintained. For this reason, we make sure that our guests are guided during their visit.

What is the minimum/maximum number of people needed for a tour?
The minimum number of people for a tour is 1! Groups are not required!
The maximum number of people is…complicated. If it’s 10 or more, just contact us and we’ll sort out the details.

Will I get to pet the alpacas on my tour?
This is another complicated question. Alpacas, just like people, have different personalities and moods. We do have extremely friendly alpacas who like to be touched by visitors. However, it’s possible that on your tour the alpacas will not be in the mood to be pet, or they might be in the pastures, where they only care about grazing. For these reasons, I can’t guarantee that you will pet alpacas on your tour. It is certainly possible though!
